Custom Quilting

I have done so many custom quilts that I thought it might be time to honor theme with a page of their own.

Megan's Red and White hand embroidered / applique quilt.

Celeste's 2016 Pacific Fabric's block of the month quilt

Kathy D's COGS scrap quilt

Norma's Mount Rainier table runner

Meghan's applique quilt

Teri's Tiny Town

I really like how this turned out!

Absolutely love how the texture came out.

I chose filled crosshatching to add depth behind the houses, it gives the appearance of objects in the shadows.

Quilted Strait Shop Sample

All Free motion quilted, no stencils, even the Hibiscus!

"Total Improv"

This beauty is a whole cloth quilt.  I made this for an exhibit at 2017 UQSM show for non pieced quilts.  I used Westminster Sateen fabric in Peacock, a double layer of Quilter's Dream Wool and Filtec Glide in Dijon for the thread.  I just love all the texture.

This was an unplanned (meaning not measured out or preplanned) piece.  I just started with a blank piece and started the first row and it morphed into this.

Black Capped Heron, Pieced by Leslie Dickenson of Port Townsend Washington.
I had the pleasure of thread painting Leslie's Heron this past month.  Leslie took a class from David Taylor to learn how to piece this amazing bird.  The Heron was captured on film by Leslie during a trip to Hawaii and is a juvenile heron.
I spent many hours thread painting the feathers, leaves and rock to bring life and dimension to them.
This piece will be a raffle quilt for a local bird sanctuary in Sequim.
