Batik Star Quilt quilting complete

As a longarm quilter, I often get inspiration from other quilters.  When I have spare time I often browse Pinterest and Instagram as well as other blogs to search for ideas and new designs.  This quilt is a product of the browsing. I knew I wanted to do another black backing after the Black, Red and White quilt I finished last fall.  I loved the look of the multi colored threads on the black, and this batik star quilt really shines in that department.
I used a really pretty variegated thread by Superior.  I had some issues with shredding due to the weave of the fiber, so I would not recommend using this in an allover pattern where I am at the back of the machine and am not able to monitor the thread closely.  It may have cost me a little extra time but I feel it was well worth the results.
The top was pieced by MiaQuilts, and she did a fabulous job on it.  I loved it at first sight!

The patterns used are all FMQ (Free Motion Quilting) with very little marking or ruler work.  This is considered a custom quilt with a lot of dense quilting.
